GreenYellow signs a 15-year partnership with Benteler to supply the burgos factory in Madrid with solar energy
GreenYellow, a leader in decentralized energy transition, has teamed up with BENTELER, a global supplier of automotive parts to the automotive, energy and mechanical engineering industries, to supply its Burgos plant in Spain with solar power over a 15-year period.

This future photovoltaic plant will enable the site to cover 26.5% of its energy consumption, by self-consuming 89% of the green energy produced.
The green electricity will come from a 3.6 MWp photovoltaic plant, built one kilometer from the factory with the support of Abasol, a Spanish company specializing in technical solutions for renewable energies. With an estimated production of 5.7 GWh per year, the plant will enable self-consumption of clean, local energy, supporting BENTELER’s commitment to sustainable industry. A one-kilometre medium-voltage line will link BENTELER’s facilities to the GreenYellow plant, which is equipped with single-axis trackers that optimize the inclination of the panels to capture maximum solar energy.
For BENTELER, a player with a long-standing commitment to sustainability initiatives, this collaboration marks a further step in its environmental strategy to reduce carbon emissions and promote renewable energies. GreenYellow, which continues to expand in Spain through its subsidiary GreenYellow España, stresses the importance of developing partnerships with local players and supporting the country’s industrial fabric, as illustrated by its technical collaboration with Abasol.
Nicolas Daunis, Managing Director of GreenYellow Iberia, is delighted with this alliance with BENTELER: “This agreement marks a new stage in our development in Spain, a market with immense potential. GreenYellow is determined to make a positive contribution to the local economy and industry, and to promote cleaner, more sustainable energy.”
Roberto Cossío, manager of the BENTELER plant in Burgos, adds: “For over 145 years, our group has been committed to combining economic success with social responsibility. This partnership with GreenYellow reinforces our ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) approach, which has been at the heart of our family business for four generations.”
Through this alliance, BENTELER and GreenYellow are joining forces to will get back to today’s energy and environmental challenges, while supporting the local economy and contributing to a more sustainable future.
