GreenYellow supports the Zolux group in the construction of a solar rooftop power plant at its Ablaincourt-Pressoir site

GreenYellow, leader in decentralized energy transition, has been chosen by the Zolux Group, a specialist in the manufacture and distribution of products dedicated to pets, to install and operate a solar rooftop power plant with 1,000 photovoltaic panels for its new building in Ablaincourt-Pressoir, in France.

A project representing 2,000 m² of photovoltaic panels

The photovoltaic panels are installed on a new building in Ablaincourt-Pressoir with a total surface area of 12,518 m², to be built in 2022 to accommodate the operations of the Saint Bernard subsidiary, as well as the platform activity of the Zolux company.

This photovoltaic power plant, in operation since March 2024, comprises two parts: a 150 kWp installation for self-consumption, and a 250 kWp installation dedicated to the total resale of energy on the public grid. This project, 100% financed by GreenYellow, which is bearing the initial investment, enables the Zolux logistics site to benefit from a green, local and competitively-priced energy source, while contributing to the production of renewable energy.

In May and June, solar self-consumption covered 65% of the site’s electricity needs.

An initiative in line with the Zolux Group’s CSR commitments

This project is part of the “Better for my Planet” pillar of the Zolux Group’s Horizon corporate social responsibility approach, aimed at reducing its environmental impact. It has also contributed to the building obtaining the “Biodiversity” label in 2023, rewarding the performance of real estate projects as well as the preservation of biodiversity.

When we closed our call for tenders, GreenYellow appeared to be the most appropriate provider, both from an economic point of view and because the company was French, reputed to be serious, and offered to resell the surplus energy produced, through a local partnership, which was important to us. The team enabled us to commission our photovoltaic systems under the best possible conditions. Today, we enjoy being able to consume part of the energy produced by our rooftop, and are already seeing the economic benefits as well as the environmental benefits, ” says Damien Thomas, Managing Director of Zolux SAS.

“We are proud to support the Saint-Bernard company and the Zolux Group in implementing their CSR commitments and energy transition. We were involved early on in discussions with GSE and Zolux, to validate certain technical choices together. The sharing of high standards and a constructive mindset between all stakeholders was also a factor in the success of this project,” comments Mathieu Cambet, Deputy Managing Director, in charge of solar photovoltaic at GreenYellow France.
