Solar photovoltaic client case study – BITCO
BITCO is one of the main transport and logistics terminals in the regional port of Barranquilla, Colombia.
Project context
In order to reduce its carbon footprint and promote greener management of transport/logistics activities, the Port of Baranquilla was looking to use a greener source of energy.
As part of its #SHIFTProduction offer, GreenYellow designed and developed a bespoke project: a rooftop photovoltaic solar plant.
As a result, the BITCO terminal will benefit from green, local and competitively-priced electricity to cover part of its energy needs.
It will also enable the port to reduce its carbon footprint, while reinforcing its position as an eco-responsible player on a regional scale.
