The Mobility Orientation Law (#LOM) marks a decisive step in the evolution of travel in France.
The LOM is part of a context of ecological transition and transformation of transport modes in France. It aims to meet the challenges of sustainable mobility, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and improving transport accessibility for all.
The Loi d'Orientation des Mobilités (LOM) was the fruit of a legislative process that began in 2018, starting with consultations, debates and parliamentary stages. Presented to the Council of Ministers in November 2018 by then Transport Minister Élisabeth Borne, the bill was then meticulously examined and amended by deputies and senators throughout 2019.
After these crucial stages, the LOM was definitively adopted by the French Parliament and promulgated on December 24, 2019, before being officially published in the Journal Officiel on December 26, 2019.
