The Energy Savings Certificates,<\/b> also known as White Certificate, are a scheme <\/b>introduced by governments with the POPE law, to encourage energy savings and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. White Certificates are units of measurement representing the amount of energy saved by implementing energy efficiency measures. <\/b><\/p>\n

The Energy Savings Certificates scheme is based on the obligation for energy suppliers<\/strong> (electricity, gas, fuel oil, etc.) to make energy savings over a given period<\/b>. They must meet energy savings targets set by the communities. Energy suppliers can meet this obligation by encouraging their clients customers (individuals, businesses, local communities) to implement energy efficiency measures, such as renovating buildings, installing more energy-efficient systems or using more efficient appliances. <\/p>\n

Once energy savings have been achieved, suppliers can obtain Energy Savings Certificates corresponding to the amount of energy saved.<\/strong> These certificates can then be sold on a specific market to other energy suppliers who have not met their targets.
