GreenYellow deploys a large-scale program for solarization of photovoltaic parking carports for self-consumption

GreenYellow, a pioneer in decentralized energy transition in France and internationally, is developing an ambitious parking solarization program for Sanofi, a global leader in the pharmaceutical industry, under 15-year Power Purchase Agreements (PPA). This program includes the implementation, financing, and operation of self-consumption photovoltaic parking carports across five sites in France, three of which are already in service or under construction, with a total capacity of 4.5 MWp and an estimated annual production of 4.9 GWh.
14 photovoltaic parking carports installed at Sanofi sites in Amilly and Ambarès cities
Seven photovoltaic carports with an installed capacity of 1.3 MWp now cover nearly 330 parking spaces at the Amilly (45) site. This installation generates approximately 1.5 GWh of renewable energy per year, helping to avoid the emission of 397 tons of CO2 annually. Additionally, the project includes the creation of a stormwater retention basin for specific rainwater management and plans to pre-equip 70 charging stations for electric vehicles, reinforcing the site’s commitment to a sustainable and low-carbon infrastructure.
For its part, the Ambarès site (33) now has a similar installation with an installed solar capacity of 1.3 MWp, on more than 350 parking spaces also producing 1.5 GWh per year and avoiding 416 tonnes of CO2 each year. This project also includes the anticipation of the installation of 70 charging stations for electric vehicles, to support sustainable mobility within the site.
These installations have been operational since December 2024 under 15-year Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), ensuring the long-term production of green, local, and cost-effective energy.
10 photovoltaic parking carports at the Sanofi Compiègne site
At the Compiègne (60) site, ten photovoltaic parking carports are currently under construction and will be operational by summer 2025. With a self-consumption capacity of nearly 1.9 MWp and an annual production of approximately 2 GWh, these carports are part of a broader parking lot renovation project. Once completed, this initiative will significantly reduce CO2 emissions by up to 531 tons per year.
2 additional projects are also under development in the Lyon metropolitan area
” We are proud to support Sanofi in its energy transition by addressing the specific challenges of the pharmaceutical sector while ensuring the operational continuity of their activities. The implementation of multi-site projects not only highlights our technical expertise and execution speed but also reflects the trust of a leading industrial partner in our ability to operate on active sites, ”says Mathieu CAMBET, Deputy Director at GreenYellow France.
