100% green electricity for Paseo Villa del Río
GreenYellow Colombia commissions a new #SHIFTProduction project for the Paseo Villa del Río shopping center.
Project background
To reduce its carbon footprint and promote greener management of its activities, Bogotá's Paseo del Rio shopping center was looking to use a greener source of energy.
As part of our #SHIFTProduction offer, GreenYellow 's Colombian teams designed and developed a bespoke project: a solar plant photovoltaic rooftop.
This recently commissioned rooftop solar self-consumption project enables the shopping center to supply several of its areas (common areas, parking lots, escalators, etc.) with green electricity. 24% of the site's energy needs are now covered by green, local energy.
Economic and environmental benefits
The project covers an area of 3,600 m² and includes 658 solar panels with an installed capacity of 382 kWp. This installation enables client to produce 538 MWh of electricity per year, representing a significant reduction in its energy costs.
In addition to reducing its electricity costs, the Paseo Villa del Río shopping center is helping to protect the environment by reducing its carbon footprint. This solar installation avoids the emission of 271 tonnes of CO2 per year, the equivalent of planting 1,294 trees.

The project is perfectly in line with the Colombian government's environmental objectives, which aim to increase the share of renewable energies in the national energy mix.
